Can all rings be set to size?

Most rings can easily be set to size. Rings for which this is not possible, can always be ordered in the right size. Contact us. Best Friend will assist you with all necessary advice.

Can my ring be engraved and how much does it cost?

Inside most rings your name, a date or another small message can be engraved. The engraving is done for free by Best Friend.

Do I get a certificate with the purchased jewellery?

All jewels come with a certificate of authenticity: a certificate of Best Friend or certificates of international laboratories of gemmology such as: HRD Antwerp (Diamond High Council), IGI (International Gemologicial Institute), GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or others.

Do I have to pay VAT on the indicated prices?

No, all prices are VAT included.

Do you give a guarantee on the jewellery?

Jewellery

Best Friend gives a 6 months’ guarantee on items in gold and/or set with diamonds. This guarantee does not apply to badly damaged articles caused by careless handling. This guarantee does not apply to discoloration of white gold. This is due to normal wear. Your jewels can always be rhoduim treated again.

Watches

For watches you get a 1 year guarantee from the manufacturer. This guarantee does not apply to batteries or outside damage such as glass breakage, wear of watchband or misuse of the watch.

How are the jewels packaged?

Your chosen jewel is securely packaged in a stylish and luxurious free jewellery box. It will be delivered together with the Certificate of Authenticity.

How do I determine my ringsize?

1. You already know the size of your finger? Just give us your size. See: Find your ringsize.
2. You don’t know your size? We’ll send you a free ring gauge and you’ll be able to perfectly determine your size. See: Click here to order your ring gauge and fill out your data.
3. You have a ring that fits perfectly? Send us the ring and we’ll set your new ring to the same size. Of course we will send you back your model ring. 

How do we evaluate the quality of pearls?

There are five equivalent criteria to determine the quality of pearls: Size, Shape, Lustre, Surface, Colour.

How is the quality of colour gemstones determined ?

To determine the quality of the colour of gemstones, the colour is the most important element. Categories: Top, Very good, Good, Medium, Poor.

How much does Best Friend charge for shipping my order?

Your order will be sent to you free.

How much does it cost to set your ring to the right size?

Best Friend sets your new rings to the right size for free.

How to pay?

We ask you to pay your order in advance, prior to sending the goods. Together with the payment, mention always your name, your address and the ordered article with order number.

What are the 4 C’s ?

There are internationally accepted rules to determine the quality of diamond, the so called 4 C’s. These four criteria determine the value of a diamond and thus its price.

•          Carat

The weight of a diamond is expressed in carats: 1 ct = 0,2 gram and 1 ct equals 100 points.

•          Cut  

The brilliance of a diamond depends on the quality of its cut. Cut in the right proportions, all light will be reflected from the topside of the gemstone. Categories: Excellent, Very good, Good, Medium, Poor.

•          Colour

The colour of a diamond is determined by comparison with masterstones under standardized light.The highest quality starts from D:

D          Exceptional white+

E          Exceptional white

F          Rare white+

G         Rare white

H          White

I           Slightly tinted white

J          Slightly tinted white

K-L       Tinted white

M-Z      Tinted colour

•          Clarity

The clarity of a diamond is determined by viewing the diamond with a loupe or a microscope with a 10 x magnification.The highest quality starts from IF:

IF         Internally flawless, no inclusions

VVS     Very very small inclusions, not visible to the naked eye

VS       Very small inclusions, not visible to the naked eye

SI         Small inclusions, not visible to the naked eye

P1        Piqué 1 = visible inclusions

P2        Piqué 2 = more visible inclusions

P3        Piqué 3 = larger and more visible inclusions

What is the delivery time?

The following delivery times have to be taken into consideration :

1. Delivery from stock: a few days after payment, you can expect our delevery.
2. Your jewel has to be set to the right size or has to be engraved : a delivery time of approximately 14 days.
3. Your jewel is not in stock and has to be ordered or made : a delivery time of approximately 4 weeks, according to ordered article.

What is the standard quality of your jewels?

Jewels

All jewels from our collection are manufactured in 18 carat gold: yellow gold, white gold, bicolor gold, pink gold. They have the international guarantee hallmark: 750. The weight in grams (g), mentioned in the description of every article, may vary slightly depending on the size. Anyway, it gives an idea of the weight of the jewel.

Gemstones

All jewels from our collection are set with high quality precious gemstones: diamonds, color gemstones, semi-precious gemstones, pearls. The characteristics of all the precious stones are listed with each jewel.

What quality of diamond do we use in our jewellery?

Best Friend guarantees high quality diamonds. We buy our diamonds directly without intermediaries. Hence we offer top quality at very attractive prices. We mainly use the following quality of diamonds (see also: What are the 4 C’s?):

o        Cut: excellent and very good

o        Colour: D to H

o        Clarity: IF to SI, usually VVS and VS.

What should I do if I want to return a jewel?

Best Friend guarantees a jewel of top-quality, manufactured with noble materials and precious stones. You will wear this jewel with lasting satisfaction. Should you not be completely satisfied, you can send back the jewel within 14 days of receipt.

All jewels are to be returned in their original jewel case and packaging and in the same way (registered or courier), toghether with all documents. They should be in the same impeccable and original state as when sent. Upon receipt and verification, we will refund the full amount within 30 days, less shipping cost.
